S/S 2011 Fashion Trends by Judy Chua

S/S 2011 WOMEN'S WEAR

The contrasting yet complementing color palette, the range of shapes and silhouettes, and the sophistication that is ever so sexy makes for a thoughtful and flawless collection.
Long draped elongated shapes, this season will definitely be playful, whimsical and sweet. The collection also explores familiar elements with the sole purpose of challenging them. Through the mixing of textures and prints, as well as reversible day-to-night pieces, the versatile styles represent transition and balance. Vibrant colors and military details promote boldness, while flowing silhouettes and designs showcase movement.

“Beauty is also submitted to the taste of time, so a beautiful woman from the Belle Epoch is not exactly the perfect beauty of today, so beauty is something that changes with time." - Karl Lagerfeld

 S/S 2011 JEWELERY

This season is an exciting time for fashion lovers and do you know what trend should be in your fashion wardrobe for upcoming season? Oversized everything. Heavy metals. Over-the-top rings. Enormous hoops and chandelier earrings. Ornamented and bold bangles. Dramatic, unique and unusual necklaces will invade 'tis season. The more the better.  There is no such thing as "not enough" and "more more more" is absolutely desirable. Unlike in the past, when the massive brooches and pins were the key element in one's personal adornment.. It is now THE necklace. Black, gray, and neutral colors is a major trend in not only women's jewelery but men's as well. It can be made of glass, metal, crystals, pearls, leather or stainless steel. For the over-the-top rings, whether faux or real the more one can put on a finger the better, and the idea is to "catch the eye". Flashing an unbelievable ring while having cocktails and conversation is the ultimate tease and everyone will be green with envy.

S/S 2011 BEAUTY

This season's beauty trend  is almost theatrical, entertaining and provoking a new fashion image, more elaborate and daring, requiring skills to do and a whole lot of courage and guts for those who will parade in this look. The hair is deconstructed, and the use of headwear, hats will be ever more present. Super colorful this season, a lot will shine, neons, pinks, oranges and colors that match with shadows ranging from black to white, and heavy loads of mascara. This season promises a climate of festivity.

S/S 2011 MEN'S WEAR
Who says florals are only for women? This season, florals return with a generation spanning sweep, from circular sixties, to watercolor blooms, kaleidoscopic seventies for mens wear. Yes, you read that right. This time of season, men will be the ones wearing florals.
