S/S 2011: Up and Coming Trends

Womenswear:

White, which symbolizes purity and freshness, will be a key color for Spring/Summer 2011. All white garments will keep the warm season fresh and is believed to create a minimal and perfectly polished wear.

As feminine silhouettes and tailoring are forecasted for this coming season, white can also be easily combined with other soft colors such as ivory, bone and nude tones, to deliver a feminine look.

But if your playful personality prefers the opposite direction, maxi dresses are ever reliable. The delicate and soft bohemian feel of these long and flowing dresses are aligned with the feminine silhouettes and tailoring whereas you can play around with different color palettes.

Menswear:

The tailored 3-piece suit is becoming a trend for the upcoming s/s 2011. Men are being influenced towards the tailored and polished style of the traditional career man. These power suits can be clearly seen in the s/s 2011 fashion shows. Trending colors are more on the dark side such as dark blue hues and of course the classic black.

Jewelry:

Oversized jewelries will be mostly seen in 2011’s Spring/Summer season, something that will stand out rather than complement outfits. As jewelries complete the look, huge chunky accessories are best to produce a bold fashion statement. These kinds of accessories also make up its own drama even when worn over plain and classic garments, not to mention the all white trend outfit on the same season. Regardless of the materials and patterns, whether plastic or metal, intricate or geometric, the more colorful it is the more it could follow the season.
Statement necklaces, bulky rings, huge and colorful bangles and bracelets.

Hair:

Although there has been a sneak peak of them in S/S 2010, braids have a promising trend for S/S 2011. Braided hairstyles have hit the runway in various ways. Whether they are intertwined with fabric or tousled and unkept, braids are a great alternative to hairstyle rather than the usual long flowy locks or hair buns.
