S/S TRENDS 101

Seventies fever
One of the most remarkable era in fashion history is the seventies. Referred to as disco era, flower power, and peace movement, it definitely left a mark in clothing history. This season, designers pay tribute to such an epic era. Runways trace back statement silhouttes of the seventies with loose and flowy garments that still accentuate the waist. Designers such as Fendi, Ferragamo, and Etro are oozing with seventies fever.

Printed Matter

What better way to brighten up your day than by injecting fun and colorful prints to your outfIt? It’s not only your garden  that blooms this spring, but also your closet! Runways caused quite a rage when models walked out in such juicy colored patterns and bright hued prints. They hit off just in time for everyone to update their wardrobe for the upcoming spring and summer season. Loewe, Louis Vuitton, and Rochas go gaga over prints.

Man Sandals

Comfort takes a front seat for men this season. With references dating back to Ancient Greece, man sandals caused quite a buzz in the runway this season, both local and foreign. It made men keep their sneakers or oxfords and opted for this comfy pair. Models hit the runway in man sandals for Chai, Jerome Salaya Ang, and Michael Kors.

Shake your booties
Lace up booties may have trickled up from the fashion ladder, tracing back its inspiration from workman’s shoes. This season, designers have their own renditions of the classic lace up. May it be wedge, platform, multi-colored, or studded, it is definitely the cherry on top to make an outfit fierce and fab. Designers such as Thakoon, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Givenchy have been shaking their booties this season.

Bright Eyes
To match the colors of nature this season, make-up artists turn to their bright shadows for a sunny look. Matching the colors of bright blooming flowers and vivid colors of the ocean, bright eyes are definitely a runway staple to every show this season. As seen on the runways of Dior, Giles and Kenzo.
